Cynthia Easton graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design, in 1972. She continued her professional education at the University of Maryland and received a Bachelor of Architecture Degree with Honors in 1975. After several years of interning in architectural firms in Washington D.C. and Sacramento, Cynthia became a licensed architect in 1979.

The firm of Cynthia Easton Architects was created in 1980 and has since built a good reputation in Sacramento for being a professional organization with the ability to listen attentively to a client's needs and turn those needs into an affordable reality. Cynthia oversees all projects from beginning to end. She guides and advises the project managers through each phase of every project and excels in achieving energy efficient and cost effective solutions for all projects.

As designer, Cynthia has completed many commercial, industrial, and multi-family housing projects. Presently she is the designer for the Main Administration Building for the Consolidated Area Housing Authority of Sutter County. Past housing projects include the design of Becerra Apartments in Davis, California for the National Handicap Housing Institute, a residential complex with fully accessible living units, community building and courtyards. At 66th Avenue Apartments, Cynthia designed 21 units for mentally ill patients and their families for Transitional Living and Community Support. In conjunction with Montgomery Watson, Cynthia received a contract for the design of structures for the Sacramento River Water Treatment Plant Expansion, whose structures include a 10,000 SF Office building, a 10,000 SF Chemical Storage building, a 10,000 SF Filter building, and a remodel of an existing Coagulant building. Due to her expertise with wastewater projects, Cynthia designed the Operations Building, decorative perimeter fencing and gates for the Upper Northwest Interceptor Section 8, a wastewater pumping station for the Sacramento County Regional Sanitation District, a collaborative project with HDR Engineering. Past commercial clients include the California State Automobile Association, the Watkins Company, and Legal Services of Northern California. Public sector clients include the University of California, Davis. Cynthia also excels in providing design services for single-family residential additions, remodels, and custom homes for local residential clients.

Because of a firm belief in contributing to the architectural community, Cynthia is involved with many prestigious professional organizations. She is a member of the Central Valley California Chapter - American Institute of Architects, and has served as Treasurer and Chapter Director. For the California Architects Board, Cynthia is a Master Commissioner for the Oral Examination, and in recognition for past service to the Board, received the Octavius Morgan Distinguished Service Award. In the past, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards selected Cynthia from a national pool of architects to advise the council in grading criteria for the national Architectural Examination. In the business community, Cynthia is an advisor of the Land Park Community Association on architectural and planning related issues, and a member of Soroptomist International. She is also a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
